Technical Reports
The New York State Alternative Assessment (NYSAA), is part of the New York State testing program that measures the attainment of the New York State Learning Standards in the areas of English language arts (ELA), mathematics, and science for all students with the most severe disabilities in Grades 3-8 and high school.
For NYSAA, New York State (NYS) is part of a consortium with Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM). NYS uses the year-end model for testing. The publications (including the technical reports and standard setting reports) regarding this consortium from DLM can be found here: .
The purpose of the technical report for NYSAA is to provide information on test development, scaling and equating, scoring, reliability, and validity.ÌýThis report is updated every year to reflect the technical details of the above procedures and to provide information about student performance using operational data.ÌýFinally, any changes to the system or the assessment will be documented in the report.
