Early Learning

The Office of Early Learning provides oversight and technical support to school districts in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs and policies related to educating students in prekindergarten to third grade that are aligned with the NYS Board of Regents Early Childhood Policy.

State Education Department Awards 34 Million in Grants to 64 School Districts to Expand Universal Prekindergarten Programs
Awardees for Request for Proposals (RFP) # GC 23-021 have been announced. This grant is the 2023-2024 Statewide Universal Full-Day Prekindergarten (SUFDPK) Expansion Grant for New Full-Day Placements or for the Conversion of Half-Day Placements to Full-Day Placements for Four-Year-Old Students.
