LLL-LECNY - "Inspiring Proficiency, Connections & Global Citizenship" - Syracuse University - February 2, 2019

The 2019 LLL/LECNY Workshop was the fourth conference under the aegis of The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics of Syracuse University, held at the Goldstein Student Center. There were 92 attendees at this event, ranging from 7-12 world language teachers, college instructors, college students, and student teachers.

At this uniquely-formatted event with 10 sequential mini-workshops lasting 15 minutes each, the participants share ideas, strategies, stay current in research and new technology.Ìý Presentations included:

A short LECNY intro preceded the conference with updates given by LECNY and 91ÉçÇø, plus individual/school announcements of upcoming events and deadlines, including student scholarships, teacher grants and summer programs for teachers and students.Ìý Teachers earned 3 hours of in-service (CTLE) credit. Everyone enjoyed the breakfast items and beverages and especially the opportunity to talk with colleagues and make new professional connections.

The LLL Department always plays a vital role in the preparations and success, with particular thanks to administrative assistant, Colleen Kepler.Ìý In addition to the department's financial support, a total of eighteen Syracuse University students and instructors attended, including one who led a workshop with two graduate student- presenters.Ìý LECNY is extremely proud and appreciative of the Syracuse University-LLL participation in this event.
