Calling Middle School Student Teams!
Creative Solutions for Equity and Access
Do you have an idea for improving access and equity in education for all students: those affected by economic, ability, racial or gender disparities? Join the 1st annual 91ÉçÇø sponsored Create-A-Thon to develop and showcase your innovative, creative and artistic solutions utilizing technology in order to gain access and equity in education.
Middle school teams (Grades 6-8) are invited to help us solve this problem and get feedback on promising practices/solutions!
Dates: June 11, 2019 & June 12, 2019
Day One: Students will collaborate and work to solve a problem and develop a solution
Day Two: Students will virtually present the solution to a panel of judges
Additional Support for Participants
Two webinars are scheduled to assist participants in preparing for the event.Ìý Connection information will be sent to all participants prior to the sessions.ÌýÌý Each session will last approximately 45 minutes and will be recorded.
Coaching for a Create-a-thon: Using Design Thinking
May 1, 2019, 4:00 p.m.Ìý
During the create-a-thon, your students will engage in design thinking to improve access and equity in education for all students. Join us on May 1 to learn about the principles of design thinking and the five phases associated with the process:Ìý Problem Definition, Need Finding, Ideation, Prototyping, and Testing. Participants will learn protocols that can be used with each phase to fully engage students in problem solving.ÌýÌý
Coaching for a Create-a-thon: Digital Artifacts
May 21, 2019, 4:00 p.m.
As a part of the solution the students devise for the create-a-thon they will develop a digital artifact. Join us on May 21 to learn about digital artifacts and what resources are available for your students to use.
