Emergent Multilingual Learner (EMLL) Language Profile is Now Available Online
On April 3, 2017, the听New York State Board of Regents (BOR)听approved a protocol for Emergent Multilingual Learners developed to guide and support state-funded Prekindergarten programs in implementing best practices relative to the role of the home language.听 At the April meeting, staff was directed to utilize the听Emergent Multilingual Learners (EMLLs) Language Profile听for Prekindergarten Students as part of an听EMLL Profile Process听to identify when a prekindergarten student鈥檚 home or primary language is other than English. The Language Profile is available in 24 languages.
